Refunds and cancellation

Last updated 30 August 2026

The short version

The subscription is $9.99 per month and renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in two clicks, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. If you are within 14 days of your first payment and it was not what you wanted, write to us and we will refund it.

What you are paying for

The free tier gives you the Georgian alphabet and the whole of Level 1, and it does not expire. The subscription opens every level above that, and any lessons added while you are subscribed.

Because Level 1 is free and needs no card, you can see exactly what the course is like before you pay for it. We would rather you did that than take a refund later.

Automatic renewal

The subscription renews on its own every month at $9.99 until you cancel it. We say this again immediately above the payment button, so the moment you pay you have been told twice.

Every charge sends a receipt to the email address on your account. If a receipt ever surprises you, that is a problem worth telling us about.

How to cancel

Open the billing portal from your settings page and cancel there. It takes two clicks, it needs no email to us, and no one will try to talk you out of it.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not cut off access you have already paid for: you keep the full course until the end of the current billing period, and you are not charged again.

Refunds

Your first payment: if you ask within 14 days, we refund it in full. You do not have to justify the request.

Renewals: a renewal you did not mean to pay is refunded if you tell us promptly, and in practice we would rather refund a forgotten renewal than argue about it. Cancelling before the renewal date is the reliable way to avoid one.

If something is broken: if the course is not working and we cannot fix it for you, you get your money back regardless of how long you have been subscribed.

Refunds go back to the card that was charged, and normally appear within five to ten working days depending on your bank. Nothing about this policy takes away rights you have under the consumer law where you live.

What happens to your progress

Nothing is deleted when you cancel. Kvela stores your progress in your own browser and treats the cloud copy as a backup, so your review history, streak and schedule stay exactly where they are and keep working on the free tier. You simply stop being taught past Level 1.

Your cloud backup is kept for 90 days after a subscription ends, so resubscribing within that window restores your progress across devices with nothing for you to do. The settings page also has an export button that works on every tier, on every plan, at any time. That file is yours.

Asking for a refund

Write to support@kvela.app from the address on your account, and say roughly what went wrong. A sentence is plenty. We aim to answer within two working days.
